In February 2011, Warren McCann presented to the American cast of Billy Elliot at the Canon Theatre in Toronto the tax implications of foreign theatre performers working in Canada.

In March, 2009, Warren McCann C.A. successfully challenged in Tax Court Canada Revenue Agency’s assessing position disallowing foreign tax credits for US state and city taxes paid by Canadian resident stage performers and employees engaged in US touring productions (file:2008-2676(IT) I). The Tax Court of Canada allowed the appeal with costs and ordered CRA to reassess the Taxpayer’s return based upon this decision.
